Families as Partners

Creative Beginnings is committed to providing the highest quality child care and early education, and to ensure that parents and families are valued and respected.  We value parental suggestions and thoughts and encourage parents and families to share new ideas and concerns.  We look forward to getting to know every family enrolled and to offering every child the best high quality program in an environment that is safe, clean, healthy, caring, nurturing and child friendly.

Families and Parents in the Classroom

We have an open door policy at Creative Beginnings and we value home-school connections by encouraging parents and families to stop in and spend time during the day to be a part of their child's experience. One of the benefits of parent participation in the classroom is for children to have the opportunity to see their parents supporting the goals and procedures of the classroom.. Classroom visits also provide an opportunity for parents to observe their child in a group setting and for adults to share their own unique skills and abilities to enrich the curriculum and experience for all children. Some of the ways parents and families can help out in the classroom include: participating in a class project, reading to the children, assisting on field trips, helping with class parties or center wide special events and sharing your special talents or interests with your classroom..

Communication

Creative Beginnings has a long tradition of establishing a positive rapport with families through many forms of communication. Parents and staff share information daily through face-to-face conversations, occasional phone calls, flyers on the parent information board, and notes sent home.
We also use the Procare app as our primary communication tool. Through Procare, families receive important announcements, classroom lesson plans, newsletters, and messages from teachers and administration. Teachers can upload photos of your child's day, record meals, diaper changes, rest time, and other daily activities, allowing families to stay connected and informed throughout the day.
Each classroom creates a monthly calendar that includes announcements, important upcoming events, children's activities, and general information. Family conferences are routinely scheduled in January and May for all Pre-K children, and additional conferences can be arranged at any time based on the needs of the family or staff. Conferences for children in all other classrooms are scheduled as needed. In addition, teachers provide daily verbal updates with families during drop-off and pick-up to ensure open and consistent communication.
